Notice is hereby given that a Special General Meeting will be held at Pukete Farm Park, Maui Street, Hamilton on Wednesday, 29th February 2012 at 6.00 pm before race briefing for the following purpose:

HAMILTON MTB CLUB INC COMMITTEE

 Pukete Spaghetti Update:

The Pukete Spaghetti 6 Hour Race has been an iconic race on the event calendar, and was once again being eagerly anticipated by many riders.

The timing of this event has found the club with insufficient resources and volunteers to dedicate the intense focus and time required to make this once again a quality ride/event for all to enjoy.

It is therefore with regret & sadness that we have to announce, The Hamilton Mountain Bike Committee has made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s event.

It’s not a decision we have taken lightly, and initially a postponement date had been arranged, but after much deliberation it was realized that it was better to hold no event rather than a sub standard one, and have therefore diverted our efforts into more important club projects.

We aim to have this fantastic event back some time in the future, and the Committee would like to take this opportunity to thank our many valued and loyal Sponsors and many helpers, and look forward to continuing working with them to keep this successful event on the Mountain Bike Calendar.

Thanks

HMTB Committee

Family Fun Days are on again, check the events page.

10 minutes from downtown Hamilton is Pukete Farm Park, home to the Hamilton Mountain Bike Club and a 10km network of amazing single track. The park is full of twists and turns and can be ridden by riders of all levels.

Established in 1989 the Hamilton Mountain Bike Club has worked literally thousands of hours to create the track network and keep it maintained for free public and club use. It's all done by volunteers so joining the club or a donation are great ways to help us continue this development.

During the year the Hamilton Mountain Bike Club run a number of events, both competitive and social so don't worry if you think its all about racing, its not.

Summer see's the always popular 'Summer Series' run on a Wednesday evening and with competitive and social grades. This is a twelve race series with 6 each races before and after Christmas.

Fostering young riders at competitive and social levels is a key part of the club with youth development squad for the competitive, and many casual family group rides and events for those who simply enjoy riding. Many of the social rides are organised by club members rather than at committee level and are always well supported and fun to attend.

Events away from the clubs track that are attended include favourites like:

  • The Moon Ride
  • The Black Stump Adventure
  • The Day Night Thriller
  • Colville Connection
  • nDuro Series
  • Karapoti
  • and many more...

Being part of the club puts you in contact with other MTB enthusiasts and gives you a chance to enjoy your sport at a local level. It doesn't matter whether you're a social or competitive rider - the club has something for everyone.

For less than the cost of a family visit to the movies you can join the club for a whole year - and we reckon theres no where else you could have this much fun for so little money!

When visiting our park please respect our track neighbours by not parking in their carparks or driveways. These people are often very supportive sponsors and help us with resources and funding that permits the club to build and maintain the trail network.
